Initial Consultaltion

This my opportunity to meet you, discuss your hopes and ideas for the space and your budget. It also allows me to make an initial assessment of the garden and get a feel for what is required.

Afterwards I will write to you to confirm what was discussed and provide you with a detailed quote.

Note: The costs of materials and labour for landscaping are much the same as any other building project, and you need to be aware of this when you work out your budget.

Site Survey

Before I can start on your design concept your garden will need to be surveyed by a qualified land/garden surveyor. This is essential in order to provide an accurate , scaled plan on which I can base my design.

I am happy to recommend or organise a quote from a qualified garden surveyor if you wish

I will also carry out a separate site appraisal of my own to make sure all of the site’s potential and limitations are noted.

Garden+Design+Concept+plan

Concept and Main Plan

A concept design is drawn up using the information provided by your brief, response to mood boards and site survey and appraisal.

This is the exciting bit of the process, when the creative juices start to flow and the design starts to come together, with your thoughts and ideas for your garden taking shape.

From consolidation of ideas in the concept design, the main plan is formed. This plan shows the final design layout and position of key features such as hard and soft landscaping.

Additional Detailing

The main plan is only part of the package that will be needed to provide a contractor with the information they will need to provide an accurate estimate for constructing your garden.

Further detailing will need to be provided by setting out plans, construction detailing and specifications and lighting plans if needed.

Please note that although I can recommend and negotiate with contractors on your behalf, any payment is strictly between you and the contractor. I work entirely on behalf of you, the client. Contractors and suppliers are selected entirely on their merits and never for financial gain.

Planting Plans

Planting plans are always produced separately to the main plan. They can be part of a full design brief or stand alone, where existing borders need a refresh

I use my knowledge of what’s plants will grow well in your garden, based around the site and its surroundings, your choices, ideas and needs.

I can provide a competitive quote for the supply of plants and also plant them out for you if required

Good planting is essential in creating the look and feel of your garden. It is the ‘cherry on the cake’. A great design, just isn’t as great without it.
