A Japanese Influenced Garden Design
This was a blank canvas of just grass and a paved seating area next to the house.
The brief was to create a Japanese influenced design making the most of the space available, which was irregular in shape and limited in size.
There had to be water, a small lawn for walking over in bare feet, planting with lots of movement and a sense of peace and calm. A really special place to sit and relax. A natural extension of the open plan living space. All in a very small area that sloped away from the house.
Etched metal screens, raised beds on the lower level and a gently bubbling water feature were chosen for the final design, along with small multi stemmed trees to provide some privacy, shade and bring movement and natural sound in to the garden.
