A Contemporary Cottage Garden
The brief was to create better cohesion between the existing rear garden area, a new piece of land running the length of the property on one side and the front garden area. The garden needed to have a cottage garden feel to compliment the age and character of the house, providing a colourful and pretty garden area with enough room for outdoor entertaining when needed
The difference in levels between all the different areas of the garden needed to be addressed by the design, along with the exisiting paved seating area between the rear of the house and the raised lawn area, which was very narrow and an awkward triangular shape.
A wildlife pond and new garden room were on the wish list and needed to be incorporated in to the design, along with a site for a shed and greenhouse and relocation of an existing oil tank.
A new seating area was required close to the garden room to provide a larger entertaining area and to benefit from it being a sun trap.
Screening of a new housing development was also required down one side of the garden.
